Recombinant Human Renin |
Catalog #R-001
_________________________________________________________________
| Source | Recombinant human prorenin was expressed in HEK cells, which was processed by trypsin to generate active renin. The renin was then purified using peptide affinity chromatography. | |||||||||||||||
| Molecular Weight | The purified, active, human renin has a molecular weight ~40 kd. |

| Purity | See example SDS-PAGE below. | |||||||||||||||
| Activity | Activity was measured by the cleavage of a fluorescent peptide substrate (Arg-Glu(EDANS)-Ile-His-Pro-Phe-His-Leu-Val-Ile-His-Thr-Lys(dabcyl)-Arg) from Molecular Probes (Cat # R-2931) and activity was detected in a microplate format using a SpectroMax Gemini microplate reader. Specific activity is determined to be 100 or greater pmoles of substrate hydrolyzed/min/μg. |
