Recombinant rat prorenin was expressed and purified from HEK cell media. Rat renin was then produced by tryptic activation followed by removal of trypsin.

Activity

Our rat renin displays activity toward the rat renin FRET substrate (5-FAM/QXL™520) (Anaspec 62334) at a rate of 140 RFU/min/ug of protein under the following assay conditions:

  • 96-well plate assay
  • Temperature = 37°C
  • [FRET sub] = 2.6uM
  • Assay buffer, 25mM NaPhosphate, 100 mM NaCl pH 6.5
  • 350 ng of enzyme
  • SpectraMax Gemini Fluorescent Plate Reader

Formulation Rat renin is shipped in 50mM Tris-HCl pH 8.0 at a concentration of approximately 1 mg/ml.
Storage

Store samples frozen at -20°C. Avoid freeze thaw cycles.
