Recombinant Human Caspase 8 |
Catalog #C-001
_________________________________________________________________
| Source | Recombinant human Caspase 8 was expressed in E. coli, and purified out of inclusion bodies. |
|||||||||
| Molecular Weight | The purified, active, human Caspase 8 is composed of 11 kDa and 19 kDa subunits. |
|||||||||
| Purity | The Caspase 8 is >95% pure (two chains) by SDS-PAGE and is suitable for crystallization. | |||||||||
| Activity | Activity was measured by the cleavage of a chromogenic peptide substrate (Ac-Ile-Glu-Thr-Asp-pNA) from AnaSpec (Cat # 25258-5) and was detected in a microplate format using a SpectroMax 250 microplate reader. Specific activity was measured at 25°C and was > 3,000 n moles of Ac-Ile-Glu-Thr-Asp-pNA hydrolyzed/min/mg protein at pH 7.5. The protein concentration was determined using N-terminal amino acid sequencing. | |||||||||
| Formulation | Caspase 8 is stored in 500 mM Tris, 100 mM Hepes, pH 7.5, 4 mM DTT, 10% sucrose, 0.1% CHAPS. | ![]() |
||||||||
| Storage | Samples stored frozen at -80°C. Enzyme activity is labile and repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. | |||||||||
